Business owner on a phone call at his desk

Australian business finance, by phone

Skip the forms. Talk to a real business lender.

Ring the hotline, say what you need in plain words, and a lending specialist works out what could fit: property-secured loans from $20k to $5m, or unsecured options for trading businesses.

  • No credit check to enquire
  • One team, no lead farming
  • ATO debt and past credit considered

Ringing us won't touch your credit file

No credit check when you first enquire. A check only comes up later, and only once you've said you want to go ahead.

One conversation, not a bidding war

We don't spray your details across a pile of lenders. No lead farming, no stream of strangers ringing you afterwards.

A real specialist on the line

A person who works on business loans every day listens, asks sensible questions and does the matching. Straight answers help us get it right first time.

How a first call usually runs

What happens in the first four minutes

Most people put off ringing a lender because they don't know what they'll be asked. Here's the shape of a typical first conversation, so nothing catches you off guard.

Get the first-minute script · See every question we might ask

  1. 0:00

You say hello and why you're calling

One or two sentences: what the money is for, roughly how much, and when you need it. Our first-minute script shows you how.

  2. 0:45

    We ask about the business

How long you've traded, what a typical month looks like, what's already owing, and whether there's property that could be offered as security.

  3. 2:30

We talk through what could fit

Secured or unsecured, how fast each could realistically move, and what each would need from you. No rates quoted blind, because pricing depends on your situation.

  4. 4:00

    You decide the next step

Go ahead with a short list of documents, take time to think, or leave it there. No pressure, no credit check yet.

What the call can lead to

Two broad lanes, one conversation

Part of the specialist's job on the phone is working out which lane you're in. Often it's obvious in a minute; sometimes it's a mix.

With property security

$20k – $5m

Property-secured options (first mortgages, second mortgages and caveat loans over residential or commercial property) from $20,000 to $5,000,000. Useful when the amount is larger, the timeline is tight, or the credit history is messy.

How to describe your property on the call →

Without property

$5k – $500k

Unsecured, cash-flow and line-of-credit options for trading businesses, typically $5,000 to $500,000, sized on turnover and bank statements. Suits businesses with steady deposits and a clear use for the money.

How to talk about your turnover →

Past credit issues and ATO debt considered case by case. Business purposes only. We never quote rates over the phone before we understand the situation, because every loan is priced on the business in front of us.

Things people worry about before they ring

Four reasons people don't call, and why they needn't worry

Ringing a lender puts a mark on my credit file.

Not here. There's no credit check when you first enquire. We only talk about one once you've chosen to proceed.

If the bank said no, nobody will say yes.

Banks decline for their own policy reasons. Non-bank and private lenders look at different things, including property security and recent trading.

I need all my paperwork before I call.

You need a rough picture, not a folder. Documents come after the conversation, and only the ones that matter for the option you choose.

A phone enquiry means a dozen lenders will ring me.

We don't farm leads. Your details stay with one team working on your situation.

Questions people ask before they call

What is the Business Loan Hotline phone number?

Call 03 4059 1829. The line is staffed Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm Melbourne time, and you'll speak with a lending specialist who works on Australian business loans, not a general call centre. Outside those hours, leave a 60-second enquiry and we'll ring you back on the next business day.

Will calling you affect my credit score?

No. There's no credit check when you first enquire, whether you ring or fill in the form. A credit check only comes up once you've heard the options and decided you want to go ahead with one.

What should I have in front of me when I call?

Just the basics: roughly how much you need and what it's for, your ABN, how long you've been trading, a rough idea of monthly turnover, and whether you own property that could be offered as security. Documents come later, only if you go ahead.

Can I call if I have an ATO debt or past credit problems?

Yes. ATO debt and past credit issues are looked at case by case. Say it early in the call, in a sentence or two, and the specialist can steer you towards options that can actually work instead of ones that will decline.

How much can a business borrow?

Property-secured business loans run from $20,000 to $5,000,000 against residential or commercial property, as a first mortgage, second mortgage or caveat loan. Unsecured and cash-flow options for trading businesses are typically $5,000 to $500,000, sized on turnover and bank statements.

Will my details be passed to lots of lenders?

No. We don't spray enquiries across a list of lenders or sell leads. One team works on your situation and talks to you before anything moves.

What if I'm in Perth or Darwin and your line runs on Melbourne time?

Use the call planner. It shows our open window in your own local time for today and the next business day, with daylight saving handled automatically. From Perth, for example, the line opens at 7am your time between April and October.

The line's there. Use it.

Ring now if the timing's right, or leave your details and we'll call you back. There's no credit check when you first enquire, your details stay with one team, and accurate answers mean the first call gets somewhere.
